Take any Opportunity to Heal from Hurt with Open Arms……

“Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.”

-Dalai Lama XIV

Here is a true story about my dear friend Ken. It may surprise you when you read this but   I would trust Ken with my life…..  Why?  His energy is Pure, and honest, and he has such experience and wisdom, no matter what his past is, that’s why.

As a child through various circumstances Ken and his Brother were put into a local Religious based Orphanage.

In this establishment Ken was sexually abused by a Priest.  When he got older Ken used drugs and alcohol to numb this pain.

One night, a few years later when out and about and “off my face drunk”( to use his own words), Ken happened across this very same Priest.  He attacked this Priest causing Grievous bodily harm.

Ken said he woke up in the Police Cell the next morning thinking that it was the usual drunk and disorder charge, he had absolutely no idea what he had done.

Ken was found Guilty in Court and sentenced to around 9 years in Prison.

Through this experience he had many years of Counseling, has been well and truly sober for over 12 years.  His life is now about expressing himself through art, and helping others in need.

When telling me of this story, he quite openly said “that Priest hurt me, really hurt me.  But you know what, if I could change just one thing, I wish that I had never hurt him back.  Because all that did was cause even more pain, and quite frankly it ruined my own life.”

“You always get a chance to heal, no matter who hurts you, and you should take that opportunity with open arms”.
